Hello! I am super excited to be teaching Grade 1 with Ms. Shannon Mertens this year!
I started my career teaching High School, but after taking time off to raise my children, I began teaching Pre-K here at EOES and fell in love with teaching at the elementary school level! Over the past five years, I have had the pleasure of teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grade 1.
I live on a farm west of town with my husband and five children. My eldest daughter is 18 years old and studying engineering on-line this year. I have a son in Grade 12, a daughter in Grade 9 and twin boys in Grade 7. As a family we love to hike and ski/snowboard and I enjoy watching them play football and softball/baseball. In my spare time I like to do yoga, read, garden and travel.
