When: École Olds Elementary School will be having its annual Science Fair on Tuesday, February 7th
Who: All students from Kindergarten to Grade Four are invited to prepare a project and take part. Science Fairs provide students with the opportunity to determine the topic of their own learning and complete a project using the same scientific method used by older students and scientists.
How to get started: If your child is interested, information packages can be picked up from the office now. Packages contain an entry form, as well as valuable information for parents interested in helping their child choose a topic. A limited number of cardboard tri-folds used for the project backdrop (48”Wx36H”) are available at the office at a cost of $10.00. They can also be purchased at several retail locations or you can make your own cardboard version at home. Also, look for science projects from previous years on display in our school. Log books can be picked up at the office after the signed Entry Form is handed in.
Volunteers Needed: Each science project is judged several times in order to determine which projects will have the opportunity to continue on to the Mountainview Science and Technology Society Science Fair. We rely heavily on parent volunteers to assist us with this. If you are available on Tuesday, February 7th , please fill out the volunteer form that will be sent home with your child next week.
DATES TO REMEMBER: Entry forms due Friday, January 27, 2017. ÉOES Science Fair Tuesday, February 7, 2017
